This addendum applies to the head advocate of a firm on B8R Legal — the person who invites others into their workspace — and is accepted in addition to the Terms of Service. If you use B8R Legal alone, it does not apply to you until you invite someone.
This is the single most important thing to understand before you invite anyone:
That default is the purpose of a firm account, not a defect. But it means you should choose the Law Firm type only if you are content for each person you add to see the whole practice, and you should consider your confidentiality obligations to clients before you do.
If a particular colleague should not see everything — a peer advocate who shares your chambers but not your matters, for example — you can tick “Limit to assigned cases only” against that person on the Team screen. They will then see only the cases you tick for them, exactly as on an Individual Advocate account. This is set per person: everyone else in the firm continues to see everything unless you restrict them too.
By inviting someone into your firm, you confirm that:
We do not verify that anyone you invite is a genuine or enrolled advocate. That check is yours to make.
Access is controlled entirely from the Team screen. You can change a member's permissions or remove them at any time, and the change takes effect immediately for any future access.
Revocation cannot undo what a person already saw, copied, or exported while they had access. If someone leaves in circumstances where that matters, treat it the way you would treat any departing colleague who had access to files — revoking in the App is a necessary step, not a complete remedy.
Firm-related charges are billed to the head advocate's wallet: sending an invite, its yearly renewal, and removing a member. A member who accepts an invite pays their own acceptance and renewal fee from their own wallet. Accepting is never blocked by a low balance — the fee is taken from that member's next top-up.
Current amounts are on the Pricing page. Joining and leaving are free for the member; rejoining after removal is charged to both sides, deliberately, to discourage repeated removal and re-adding to reset trial pricing.
Cases created in the firm's workspace belong to the firm's account. A member who leaves keeps their own separate account and their own data, but does not keep a copy of the firm's cases, and must not extract firm or client information for their own use after leaving — see the Acceptable Use Policy.
If the head advocate deletes the firm's account, the firm's cases are erased with it. Members should export anything they are individually responsible for before that happens; we hold no archive beyond 30 days.
You are joining that firm's workspace. The head advocate controls your access and can change or revoke it at any time, and can see the cases and activity in the workspace, including entries you make. Your own separate account data stays private to you. Your professional and confidentiality obligations are unchanged by joining.
Disagreements between a head advocate and a member — about access, ownership of a matter, fees, or anything else — are between those people. B8R Labs is not a party to them, does not arbitrate them, and will not reassign data between accounts on the say-so of one side. See Section 11 of the Terms of Service.
